IN ENGLISH
Legend tells us that a sleeping party of Scottish warriors were saved from ambush by an invading Norse army when one of the warriors stood on a thistle. His cries of pain roused the warriors who defeated the invaders. The thistle has since been the emblem of Scotland. Sadly, there is no historical evidence to support this, but it’s a great story!
